The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has finalised its player contracts for the 2026-27 season, with players from both the men’s and women’s teams divided into three grades based on their performances and standing within the state setup.
The contract system was approved by the MCA Apex Council at its meeting on August 27, 2026, following recommendations from the selectors.
Under the new structure, players have been placed in Grade A, Grade B and Grade C, with annual retainers of ₹12 lakh, ₹8 lakh and ₹6 lakh, respectively.
Siddhesh Lad, Shams Mulani lead men’s Grade A
For the men’s team, Siddhesh Lad and Shams Mulani have been placed in Grade A, making them the highest-paid contracted players under the MCA’s 2026-27 system.
Grade B includes Mohit Avasthi, Aakash Anand and Hardik Tamore, while Grade C features a larger group of players — Suved Parkar, Sairaj Patil, Himanshu Singh, Jay Jain, Sumeir Zaveri, Atharva Bhosle, Manan Bhat and Ayush Vartak.
The list reflects Mumbai’s continued focus on developing a strong pool of players beyond its established names, with several younger players receiving a place in the state association’s contract structure.
Women’s team also gets a three-tier contract structure
The women’s team has also been included in the MCA’s contract system, with Humairaa Kaazi and Vrushali Bhagat receiving Grade A contracts.
Sanika Chalke is the lone player in Grade B, while Prakashika Naik, Zeal Dmello, Fatima Jaffer, Sadhvi Sanjay and Kashish Nirmal have been placed in Grade C.
With the same annual retainers applicable across the three grades, the system provides financial recognition to players representing Mumbai while also giving them greater stability heading into the new season.
The 2026-27 contracts underline the depth of talent within Mumbai cricket, across both the men’s and women’s teams. With the new domestic season approaching, these players will now look to turn their contract recognition into performances on the field.
